We are always setting an example for the world and for those around us. Through our actions, they see what we view in the world as important and how we should treat others and ourselves. This also shows them how we wish to be treated, either negatively or positively.
In this hectic world, it is often necessary for both parents to work full-time or in many cases there is only one parent that is around to do the parenting. This can lead to us having less time to interact with our children. We may also be stressed because of our responsibilities and challenges with other areas of our lives and that can greatly affect the type of attention we're showing our loved ones.
When we are able to seek the necessary few minutes needed to regain our inner peace, then we will be able to interact with our loved ones more consciously, cherishing the time we're allowed in uplifting ways. We should be teaching our children that although stress in life is a given that there are healthy ways to process it and regain your inner peace. They can easily learn these skills through our example, as well.
Teaching your children all the valuable life skills that they will need to find their worth, skills, interests, etc. will only aid in causing a greater ripple of healing out into the world. When your child is curious don't ignore his/her desire to learn and grow. Help them find ways to foster this desire for knowledge through reading, visiting places of interest that can prove to be a learning experience as well, and deep conversations just to name a few ways. If we're able to foster the awakened state in our children instead of stifling it, then the world will have a much better chance of peace and they will be far better prepared to live a happy, full, peaceful life.
